How can I independently check my response to a BSR RFI or PRN?

Test whether you have answered the underlying risk question, not whether you have added more text. Check understanding, evidence, uncertainty, interim measures and consistency.

Cascade Risk Management

An independent review should test whether you have answered the underlying risk question, rather than simply checking whether additional text has been added.

For an RFI or Prompt Remedy Notice, ask:

  • What concern is the BSR actually raising?
  • Which part of the safety argument does it affect?
  • Have we demonstrated that we understand the issue?
  • Have we assessed its significance to building safety risk?
  • Is our conclusion supported by available evidence?
  • Have uncertainties been acknowledged?
  • Is further investigation required?
  • Are interim measures needed?
  • Is the proposed response proportionate?
  • Does the revised position remain consistent with the rest of the safety case?

Cascade Verify can be used to review a revised safety case against the BSR assessment criteria and provide an additional quality assurance check before the response is submitted.

It can help distinguish between a reporting gap, where the information exists but has not been adequately demonstrated, and a genuine evidence or risk-management gap requiring further action.

Cascade Verify does not replace competent professional judgement or guarantee the outcome of a BSR assessment.
